Biggest update yet on Kenny Omega's AEW future revealed - Reports

Veteran journalist Dave Meltzer has provided a potential update on former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega's pro wrestling return after his surgery. It is a positive update for The Cleaner's fans.

Kenny Omega has been out of action for nearly eight months now. He has not been able to compete due to a serious medical condition known as diverticulitis. The Cleaner also had to undergo surgery during his in-ring absence and is believed to be on the road to recovery.

On a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer disclosed that Omega had seemingly been hitting the gym and was expected to be back in action before the end of 2024.

“He's [Omega] getting better, I know that. He's been in the gym. He is coming back, that's pretty much the word. I don't think it's like months and months away. Just the vibe I have is it'll be before the end of the year,” Meltzer said.

Kenny Omega responded to a non-AEW star's challenge

A week ago, Omega was seemingly challenged by New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Gabe Kidd amid his absence. The Cleaner noticed Kidd's tweet and called him out with the following message:

"You must have forgotten that I work for AEW. Most of our roster are delusional psychopaths like you so I’m kinda used to the schtick. Tell you what, brah - Go win that G1 and maybe I’ll think about gifting you with the 'Kenny Omega touch.' The same one that scored all your top talent that bag here in the US. Good Luck," Omega wrote on X/Twitter.

Well, Omega may have to handle some business outside AEW when he potentially returns. Only time will tell when The Cleaner will be back inside the squared circle.
