Cause of AEW star's absence from recent shows reportedly revealed

An AEW star and former champion from the tag team and trios division has been missing from television for several weeks. The talent in question is Bang Bang Gang member Austin Gunn, one half of The Gunns, alongside his brother Colten.

The Bang Bang Gang has been one of the Tony Khan-led promotion's most popular factions. However, the group has not been at full strength for some time now, especially owing to the absence of The Gunns on recent programming.

An update from Fightful Select has now revealed that according to sources in AEW and WrestleCade, Austin Gunn has been dealing with an injury, which accounts for his hiatus from All Elite Wrestling television for the past couple of months. The report further noted that Austin's brother Colten is cleared for action, although no reason for his recent absence is known.

The Gunns last competed in the squared circle with Juice Robinson on the September 12 episode of Collision. Austin found himself on the receiving end of a steel chair sneak attack from Hangman Page on Dynamite's Five Year Anniversary episode. The Cowboy also nearly brutalized Colten later that month for trying to avenge his sibling but ultimately survived through the aid of his teammates Jay White and Juice Robinson.

What are the other members of The Bang Bang Gang up to in AEW?

While The Gunns have been off AEW's ongoing programming, the rest of The Bang Bang Gang have been occupied trying to further their singles careers. Juice Robinson entered the 2024 Continental Classic as a Gold League participant - unfortunately, his journey in the tournament was cut short due to an injury he suffered during his first match against Will Ospreay last month.

On the other hand, Jay White has his sights set on Jon Moxley's AEW World Championship, which he will compete for in a four-way match involving The One True King, Hangman Adam Page, and Orange Cassidy at Worlds End 2024.
