Details of AEW's secret plan for Jon Moxley - Reports

AEW had a secret plan for Jon Moxley. His current title reign was planned way ahead of time.

Darby Allin won the Royal Rampage match in July 2024 and earned himself a shot at the AEW World Championship. But The Purveyor of Violence stole this opportunity from him and ended up defeating Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream to become the only four-time AEW Champion in the promotion.

According to a new report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW had secretly planned to make Moxley the AEW World Champion even before the star won the IWGP Championship in April.

"A few notes regarding the long-term plans here. According to those close to the situation, while the story was out about Darby Allin being planned for the title this year after Bryan Danielson, the secret plan from months ago was always Danielson to Jon Moxley as a heel. The Swerve Strickland to Danielson and then to Moxley story was planned prior to Moxley winning the IWGP title, but apparently the only people who were supposed to know were Tony Khan, Moxley, Danielson and Allin."

Jon Moxley and company attacked Chuck Taylor on Dynamite

This week's Dynamite saw yet another attack carried out by Jon Moxley and his faction. Several AEW stars were on guard duty but still, the BCC members managed to sneak inside the arena.

After the main event, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta took out Private Party and Daniel Garcia. Later, Mox dragged Chuck Taylor to the ring where Wheeler Yuta tried to break his injured ankle with a steel chair. Claudio stopped him and used the chair to target his neck instead.

Orange Cassidy and other stars rushed in to save Taylor but the damage had already been done. The fans then saw the recently retired star being stretchered out of the arena.
