Disappointing update on Britt Baker's AEW status - Reports
AEW star Britt Baker has been absent from television lately. Meanwhile, a new report has shed light on the issue. The D.M.D. is a former AEW Women's World Champion.
Britt Baker is one of the top female stars in Tony Khan's promotion. However, her booking in the past few months have been nothing but underwhelming. The D.M.D. made her in-ring return in July 2024 after being out of action for a notable amount of time due to injury. However, Baker is once again off television, and recent reports have unveiled the reason behind her absence.
Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp reported that there is no proper reason behind Britt Baker's absence except for her "moving houses" and her health issues.
"She was at the GalaxyCon thing. A lot of people [are] asking where she is and all that. I don’t want to speak for her. I know there have been some times when they have tried to book her, and one, she got sick. Two, she was in the middle of moving. Physically moving houses and making sure she had a home,” the report stated. [H/T: RingsideNews]
Dutch Mantell slams Britt Baker for ruining a recent angle in AEW
Last month on AEW Dynamite, Serena Deeb confronted Britt Baker. However, The Doctor did not seem to be bothered by the former WWE star. Many shared their displeasure with the segment, including wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell.
In a recent edition of his Storytime of Dutch Mantell podcast, the former WWE manager claimed the angle between Britt Baker and Serena Deeb was killed before it even started due to The D.M.D. He pointed out how Baker saying "she doesn't care" to Serena made it easy for fans to not take interest in the storyline.
"Well, that's killing the angle before it even gets started. Nobody cares. She doesn't care, then why should the fans care? I don't know who's telling these people that. I don't know if the camera or mic should have picked that up. I don't know. That's something that started with the negative, and it went lower. Baker didn't even look like she cared about the girl," he said. [From 1:58 to 2:32]
We will have to wait and see when Britt Baker makes her return to All Elite Wrestling's TV.
