Eddie Kingston’s surgery date set; expected to be out of action until 2025 - Reports
Eddie Kingston’s surgery date is here, and it does not look good for him. He is set to be out of action until next year, which will undoubtedly come as a bitter blow for the former Continental Champion.
Kingston injured himself at a New Japan Pro-Wrestling show as he landed awkwardly and injured his knee. It was not known when exactly he would go under the knife, but it has been revealed now.
PWInsider reported that Eddie is set to have surgery to repair his ACL and mend his meniscus tears on July 8. He previously said that doctors had advised him to wait for the fracture to heal as that would give them ample time to help him.
The recovery timeline for ACL surgeries is long. In this case, Kingston's will take 10 months. That means he will be out of action until May 2025.
Dutch Mantell thinks Eddie Kingston may never wrestle again
Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell had some worrying words regarding Eddie Kingston, which he would not want to hear.
He was speaking on his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast when he said Kingston might never wrestle again.
"I think he's done. See, I met Eddie a long time ago when I was in TNA but his strongest part of his whole thing is the way is his talking. He is a great talker and his work matches his interview but it doesn't matter now. Now, he's hurt and I hope he's ok and I hope he can continue," he said.
Eddie will no doubt want to prove Dutch Mantell wrong and hope to return better and stronger than before. Only time will tell if that will be possible.
