Identity of person behind Mercedes Mone and Britt Baker's segment from AEW Dynamite revealed - Reports

AEW fans were ecstatic to see the return of Dr. Britt Baker at Forbidden Door 2024, and even more excited to see her face off with Mercedes Mone. The two have produced a couple of blockbuster moments so far, and a new report has revealed the person responsible for their segments.

Mercedes Mone played up her status as a top star for her first couple of months in All Elite Wrestling, but after defeating fan favorite Willow Nightingale, she began to lean toward villainy. After the return of Britt Baker, however, she seems to have fully embraced a heel role.

Mone brought former WWE writer Jen Pepperman with her when she joined the Jacksonville-based promotion. While Pepperman is not a booker, she has been working closely with Mercedes. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, she's also been contributing in broader areas, and it's earned her some praise from backstage sources:

"Regarding Jen Pepperman, while a lot of people think she’s booking the women’s division, she’s not head booker of anything and is Mercedes Mone’s go-to-person, but she’s working with more than Mone. She’s gotten praised for her work on promos in the Mone-Britt Baker segment as well as for many other men and women, with Mark Briscoe and Will Ospreay being two of the most notable." stated the report [H/T: Ringside News]

Mercedes Mone and Britt Baker look to be locked in on a collision course. Whether the two meet for Mone's TBS Championship at All In remains to be seen.

Mercedes Mone issued an open challenge to anyone in AEW except Britt Baker

Mercedes Mone has made it clear that she will not stand aside for Dr. Britt Baker, and she's hammering the point home with an open challenge for her TBS Championship.

The CEO issued the open challenge to anyone on AEW's women's roster except for Baker. She will meet whoever accepts the challenge in the ring next week on the 250th episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite.

"To celebrate #AEWDynamite250 next week in Little Rock, I am going to have an open challenge for my TBS Title. The challenge is open to any woman on the AEW Roster except @RealBrittBaker," wrote Mone.

Mercedes has already drawn interest with her open challenge, and two ROH champions recently teased showing up on Dynamite to compete for the TBS Championship.
