Jon Moxley supported 40-year-old star after CM Punk threatened him backstage in AEW - Reports

AEW World Champion Jon Moxley reportedly extended his support for a popular star after CM Punk threatened him. The reported incident took place last year.

The 40-year-old star in question is Ryan Nemeth. He was signed with AEW from 2021 until his departure earlier this year. He is currently a part of the TNA roster along with his brother, Nic Nemeth (fka Dolph Ziggler in WWE). During his time in Tony Khan's promotion, Ryan reportedly had a backstage beef with CM Punk.

According to the latest report from Fightful Select, Ryan Nemeth contacted AEW's former legal representative, Megha Parekh, on June 21, 2023, regarding concerns that Punk (aka Phil Brooks) might target him. Furthermore, the current WWE Superstar threatened Ryan Nemeth backstage, and Tony Schiavone, The Young Bucks, and Parekh showed him empathy.

It was also reported that Nemeth wasn't booked on TV for the next two months following his incident with Punk. Nonetheless, Jon Moxley reportedly contacted and supported Ryan Nemeth. The report concluded that The Young Bucks, Megha Parekh, and Moxley were very helpful to Nemeth during the whole situation.

CM Punk was involved in a brawl on WWE RAW this week

CM Punk appeared on WWE RAW this past Monday after helping The OG Bloodline of Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Sami Zayn secure the win over The new Bloodline of Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, The Tongans, and Bronson Reed at Survivor Series: War Games last weekend.

The Second City Saint opened this week's RAW and addressed the crowd before being interrupted by Seth Rollins. They got into a war of words, and it turned into a brawl. Nevertheless, Sami Zayn and Jey Uso showed up to break them apart.

Moreover, Punk and Rollins have had an onscreen beef since Punk returned to WWE last year. Fans will have to wait to see how the rivalry will pay off.
