Latest on Adam Copeland (fka Edge) after career-threatening bump at AEW Double or Nothing - Reports

Adam Copeland put his TNT Title on the line against Malakai Black at Double or Nothing 2024. During the match, he was involved in a career-threatening spot. A new report has provided a potential update on his situation.

At one point in the contest, the WWE Hall of Famer wrapped barbed wire around Black's body while the latter was lying on a table. Copeland then climbed up to the top of the cage and delivered an elbow drop to the House of Black leader. The TNT Champion had a nasty fall, seemingly hurting himself in the process.

On the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer recently discussed the career-threatening sequence. He reported that Adam Copeland was feeling the aftereffects of the risky spot.

"I know someone who was in contact with him but I mean there’s no answer as to how he’s doing other than, he was certainly feeling the match, if not worse," Meltzer said. [H/T: WrestleTalk]

Dave Meltzer discusses how Adam Copeland could have prevented being hurt at Double or Nothing

Wrestling journalist Bryan Alvarez recently reported that Adam Copeland hurt himself after the aforementioned cage dive.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter pointed out that the TNT Champion could've avoided being hurt if he hadn't climbed to the top of the cage for the elbow drop.

"He was saying that in every match he does now he wants to do something he’s never done before, and I think that if he’d just done a splash or an elbow drop you know like everyone’s been doing that would have been okay. But It was like he got up there and when he came down it was almost like, ‘I’m not sure what I’m going to do’, and that was I think the kiss of death," said Meltzer.

As of this writing, the severity of Adam Copeland's injury is unknown. Sportskeeda Wrestling will have more updates on the former WWE star's condition as soon as they are available.
