Latest on AEW's rumored new show; potential issues disclosed - Reports
A recent report provided more details regarding AEW's rumored new show on FOX. The report also disclosed some potential issues with the rumored new show of Tony Khan's promotion.
After the company's inception back in 2019, AEW introduced a weekly show named "Dynamite" which became their flagship show. The company later launched another weekly show named "Rampage" a few years ago and "Collision" last year as well. Meanwhile, the promotion is rumored to launch another weekly show.
It was recently reported that FOX Network is interested in broadcasting AEW's new show named 'Shockwave.' The network recently lost WWE SmackDown as it moved to USA Network. Furthermore, Tony Khan also dropped a tease regarding the rumored show during the All Out media scrum recently.
Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer noted some issues regarding the rumored partnership between the Jacksonville-based promotion and FOX regarding a new show. Speaking on the Wrestling Observer Radio recently, Meltzer noted the following:
"I think that would be a long shot at best, I wouldn’t say it’s impossible. The key is if they’re going to go on FOX it’s got to be essentially the equivalent of Dynamite, if its anything else it will absolutely fail. They’ve got to convince the audience this is the a-show not the b-show. A b-show on FOX will die. As far as FS1 they would pay far, far less. You know you’re talking about $20 million-$30 million." AEW recently filed a trademark for the rumored show
The rumors regarding the potential new All Elite show on FOX Network began circulating after the company filed an interesting trademark. Tony Khan's promotion recently filed a trademark for the term, "AEW: Shockwave" which is rumored to be the new show on FOX.
Meanwhile, no official announcement has been made regarding any new show as of yet. Only time will tell if the new show will be announced.
