Major accusations leveled against WWE for trying to sabotage AEW - Reports
AEW and WWE have been in competition for the past few years and major names have jumped ship from one company to another. However, a recent report has unveiled a alleged controversial move made by the Stamford-based promotion towards Tony Khan's company.
WWE was recently accused of spreading misinformation and negative stories about the ratings of AEW Collision being very low. However, the viewership numbers was later corrected and revealed to be 387,000 viewers.
In the recent edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that since Nick Khan took over WWE, the company has been ordering fast nationals for All Elite Wrestling shows. He further noted that WWE's PR team has been trying to pass on these numbers to several reporters.
"Cable fast nationals must be requested and purchased for thousands of dollars for each episode. So, the possible sources are far fewer than for typical ratings reporting. And I know WWE has been ordering AEW fast nationals every week roughly since Nick (Khan) started. Plus I know WWE PR tried to feed the numbers to a long line of reporters who long ago decided it was too shady.” [H/T - RingsideNews]
The Undertaker believes there's no leadership in AEW
AEW is often dragged around for the seeming lack of leadership in the company, notably after the infamous Brawl Out and All In incidents. However, despite the criticism, Tony Khan is still the Head of Creative in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast, WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker explained why he believed Tony Khan was not the right man to run All Elite Wrestling.
"I agree with you. I don't think there is a real true leader in the locker room. And I don't, I am not sure... I have nothing against the man, you know, but I don't know that Tony is the guy to run the company. I mean his heart's in a good place and he wants to do something, but I just don't know that he has the acumen to run a wrestling company against the juggernaut that is the WWE," said The Undertaker.
The Undertaker is one of the most popular figures in the history of professional wrestling. It will be interesting to see if Tony Khan fires back at The Deadman for his alarming comments over his capabilities.
