Major AEW stars "not expected" to work together anytime soon - Reports
A new report has suggested that two popular AEW stars will not be working together anytime soon. The two were separated abruptly despite being popular among fans.
The major AEW stars in question are Stokely Hathaway and former TBS Champion, Kris Statlander. Hathaway, Statlander, and Willow Nightingale joined forces earlier this year, with fans finding the trio highly entertaining. However, Statlander and Hathaway turned heel on Nightingale at Double or Nothing.
Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway were loved by viewers as heels. They wrestled in a mixed tag team match at All In 2024. However, the alliance ended abruptly after Statlander defeated Nightingale in a Street Fight at All Out. While Statlander is a babyface now, Hathaway has teased aligning with a tag team.
It was recently reported that the creative team didn't have the option to continue the alliance. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has now reported that Stokely Hathaway and Kris Statlander are "not expected to work with one another now or anytime soon."
AEW star is focused on Mercedes Mone's title after her split from Stokely Hathaway
After her abrupt split with Stokely Hathaway, AEW star Kris Statlander mentioned that her now-former manager misguided her.
In a recent promo, which aired during an episode of Rampage, Statlander said she was now focused on Mercedes Mone and the TBS Title.
"I let Stokely get in my ear and I got led down the wrong path. I didn't know who I was, but I did what I needed to do. And on the five-year anniversary of Dynamite, I was reminded of who I am. I became a born-again Kristen. And I am the biggest, baddest, strongest woman in AEW. I'm coming from Mercedes Mone and her TBS Title," Statlander said.
Statlander is currently in a feud with Mercedes Mone. Only time will tell when they will compete for the TBS Championship.
