Major backstage update on Bryan Danielson putting his career on the line at AEW All In 2024 - Reports

Bryan Danielson has taken the huge risk of putting his career on the line at All In 2024, and recent reports have provided an update on the matter. The former WWE Champion's AEW contract expired on August 1, 2024.

Last night on Dynamite, The American Dragon cut an emotional promo where he revealed that he had promised his daughter that he would stop wrestling full-time once she turned seven. Danielson was later interrupted by his opponent at All In, AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland.

The two traded verbal blows, which led to Bryan putting his career on the line at Wembley Stadium on August 25, 2024.

In the recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that the majority of the buildup to the World Title match was a work. He further explained that Bryan Danielson wouldn't have agreed to wrestle Jeff Jarrett on next week's Dynamite if The American Dragon's neck was ''so bad.''

“So much of the buildup for this is obviously a work. Now he [Bryan Danielson] cares so much that he’s putting his career on the line. He and Tony Khan have a storyline. His neck is bad, but I also think that’s a lot of storyline. I mean, if it was so bad, he wouldn’t be wrestling Jeff Jarrett next week. He would be resting up for the big match with Swerve,” he said. Bryan Danielson recently spoke about the possibility of competing in the G1 Climax

The American Dragon has competed in NJPW many times during his illustrious career. The veteran recently opened up about the possibility of him competing in the G1 Climax.

During an interview with Sports Illustrated, the former WWE Champion revealed that while he has always wanted to compete in the G1, his future participation is unlikely considering his physical health.

"My neck isn’t doing real [sic] great right now. So there’s my health. But even if Tony [Khan] freed me up for the entire summer and said, ‘Go, do the G1,’ I wouldn’t want to leave my wife and kids for that long. I don’t think my wife would think it was good for my health, either. I’ve always wanted to do the G1. I don’t know if that’s going to be in the cards for me, and that’s OK," Bryan said.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if Danielson manages to claim the AEW World Title at Wembley later this month.
