Major star "may leave" AEW amid WWE interest; future uncertain - Reports
AEW might lose a major star to WWE soon. The star in question is Daniel Garcia.
Red Death's contract is coming to an end next month and it has been reported that WWE is interested in signing him. Tony Khan even offered him a new deal but he hasn't re-signed yet. All Elite Wrestling has been uncertain of his future for a while now, but it was rumored he will stay in the company. However, new reports suggest that he might plan a move to WWE soon.
On the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that the Jacksonville-based promotion is no longer confident that Garcia will stay in the company.
"I don’t think that they want to put him on TV until he makes the commitment... I would say that the surety or the strong confidence that he was signing, I wouldn’t say it’s as strong. But I wouldn’t say he’s leaving either, but it’s not as strong as it was a month ago. He may leave."
He added:
"If they believe someone’s not gonna sign, and that’s why a lot of people you don’t see, there’s a reason that you don’t because the belief is that when their contracts are up they’re gonna go. And if that’s the case then Tony’s just not going to put them on TV." [H/T WrestleTalk]

"I think the person who's helped me the most in AEW, as far as like advice and things like that, has been FTR. FTR has been amazing to me, when I was kind of, like, floundering after the JAS stuff."
The Dragon Slayer last wrestled at AEW All Out 2024 where he faced MJF in a losing effort. he hasn't been on TV eversince.
