Major update on Adam Cole's AEW future - Reports
AEW star Adam Cole has been off television ever since he suffered an unfortunate injury. Recent reports have revealed an update on the latter's return to the squared circle.
The former NXT Champion suffered an ankle injury nine months ago and has been seen in a wheelchair ever since. He was revealed as The Devil at last year's Worlds End PPV. However, Cole's injury has limited him from completing the storyline. Adam Cole's most recent appearance was at the AEW Double or Nothing PPV where he was taken out by a returning MJF.
According to a recent report by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Adam Cole is nearing his return to the ring as he has started walking again after his unfortunate injury.
"Because of the complexity of Adam Cole's injury, there’s still a little time left out of action but he hopes it’s not much longer. Cole is able to walk now, so he's on the way back." [H/T: WON]
Tony Khan recently provided an update on Adam Cole's AEW return
AEW CEO Tony Khan has nothing but positive words to say about former NXT Champion Adam Cole. In a recent appearance on Wrestling Observer Radio, Tony said that he's looking forward to Cole's return to action however, he couldn't give the exact timetable of his return.
"I can't wait until Adam Cole can come back," Khan said. "I can't give you the exact time table, but he will be back. And I'm looking forward to it. It'll be great to have Adam Cole back in the ring. He is recovering, and I can't wait to have him back." [H/T: Wrestling Inc]
Adam Cole has yet to finish his story with MJF as he betrayed Friedman at the Worlds End PPV. However, MJF is once again a heel and it will be interesting to see how it impacts the storyline between the two.
