Major update on Adam Cole's AEW future - Reports
Adam Cole has been absent from in-ring competition for a notable amount of time and recent reports have revealed the current status of his AEW return. The former NXT Champion signed with the promotion in 2021.
At AEW Grand Slam 2023, Adam Cole suffered an ankle injury which has had a huge impact on his wrestling career. He has been absent from in-ring competition for over a year. However, he has made some appearances and was even revealed as The Devil at last year's World's End PPV. Adam Cole's last appearance was at Double or Nothing 2024 where he was taken out by a returning MJF.
In a recent report by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was revealed that Adam Cole's return to the ring is not that far in the future. Cole's Undisputed Kingdom faction certainly needs a fresh start and his return might put them on the right track.
Booker T recently shared his thoughts on Adam Cole's AEW run
Adam Cole had one of the best runs of his career in NXT. However, he left the promotion once it was time to move up to the main roster. Cole joined AEW in 2021 but his unfortunate injuries have been a major setback in his All Elite career.
In a recent edition of his Hall of Fame podcast, NXT commentator Booker T stated how Adam Cole was super hot in NXT and was considered the next Shawn Michaels. He noted how after moving to All Elite Wrestling, Cole got lost in the shuffle and hasn't been making any moves.
"Adam Cole in WWE, in 'NXT,' he was super, super hot. I mean I had touted this guy as being the next Shawn Michaels. That's what I said, I said that, and then he goes to AEW, gets lost in the shuffle, really don't hear a whole lot from him." (H/T Wrestling Inc.)
We will have to wait and see when Adam Cole makes his in-ring return on All Elite Wrestling.
