Major update on AEW star amid year-long absence - Reports

AEW is gearing up for a very busy season, with Full Gear 2024 coming this weekend and the Continental Classic tournament returning the week after. While many top stars have returned to action in recent months, the company still hasn't done anything with Danhausen this year.

Danhausen has been missing from AEW television since the end of last year. He's remained active on the independent scene, but there has been no word on the 34-year-old's status with All Elite Wrestling for the entirety of 2024. Rumors have circulated regarding his friendship with CM Punk and his frustrations with Tony Khan's promotion, but fans have largely remained in the dark until now.

Fightful Select has now reported that the face-painted star has not been in regular contact with All Elite Wrestling for more than half a year outside of approvals for independent bookings. The report notes that Danhausen was initially scheduled to return from injury late last year, but whatever plans were in place fell through.

Fightful notes that although there have been pitches to get him involved this year, nothing has come of them just yet. It was also noted that Danhausen is willing to return to work in AEW, and Bryan Danielson has been one of his proponents backstage.
