Massive details about Miro's AEW contract after he requests his release - ReportsĀ
A new report has shared interesting insights into Miro's AEW contract after it was revealed that he had requested his release. As per the rumors, the former AEW TNT Champion was making seven figures, and that his deal was due to expire in 2026.
Miro hasn't wrestled in All Elite Wrestling since the Worlds End 2023 event in December last year, where he defeated SmackDown Superstar Andrade. After months of absence with updates, few and far between, an explosive report last week disclosed how The Redeemer had asked for his release from AEW.
In a recent Q&A session on Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp shed some more details about Miro's situation. It was noted that the former TNT Champion had inked a new big-money deal a couple of years after joining Tony Khan's company in 2022.
He added that Miro's current seven-figure deal ran until 2026, meaning he would remain with the promotion for two more years unless he was granted release.
Dutch Mantell blames Tony Khan for Miro asking for his AEW release
A few days back on Sportskeeda's Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell bluntly stated that Miro wanting to leave AEW was due to Tony Khan's disconnect with what fans wanted. Mantell believes Khan was adamant about not presenting The Redemeer in a way that viewers wanted him to see on the promotion's programming.
"It's Tony Khan; that's the disconnect. He is not seeing him as the fans saw him. They try to make him something else, and you can't make anybody anything if you just take them off TV. So, you've got to lay the blame or fault at Tony Khan's feet, because if he wanted to do something with him, he would. Apparently, he doesn't, and I've got enough money to pay him to sit at home, and that's what he's been doing," said Mantell.
It now remains to be seen if Tony Khan lets Miro take his talents elsewhere by granting him release or chooses to bring him back on TV.
