Massive update on Chris Jericho and MVP's relationship in AEW following their "physical altercation" in 2020 - Reports

AEW star Chris Jericho is a bonafide legend of the wrestling business, and he's made many lasting friendships over the years. However, he's also made some enemies, and one of his more infamous tussles came in 2020 when he and MVP reportedly got into a fight on a cruise. A new report has shed light on their relationship.

An altercation between Chris Jericho and fellow former WWE Superstar MVP allegedly occurred on the former's Rock 'N' Wrestling Rager at Sea—aka the Jericho Cruise—back in January 2020. Months later, reports claimed that the two had another confrontation at a hotel in Houston.

Jericho is a foundational talent in All Elite Wrestling, and MVP is the promotion's newest signing. There was speculation among fans regarding the relationship between the two men, but it appears things have been hashed out.

According to Fightful Select, sources claimed that MVP went directly to Chris Jericho's locker room on his first night as an AEW talent, and the two managed to resolve their issues. The report states that their past friction won't be an issue moving forward, and the former WWE Superstars were even seen interacting backstage at a recent episode of Dynamite.

Chris Jericho provides an update on his AEW contract status

Tony Khan has established a pattern of cycling talent in and out of storylines over the last few years, but one of the few constants of AEW television since 2019 has been Chris Jericho. The Learning Tree has rarely missed a pay-per-view, and he's still often featured on weekly TV.

Jericho has undergone several character evolutions, but some fans have been critical of the amount of spotlight he receives. The former AEW World Champion addressed these criticisms on a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, revealing that he's heading into his "biggest contract year ever."

"I'm about ready to go into my biggest contract year ever. That's one of the things I laugh about when people are like, 'Jericho just has to be on TV.' I don't have to do anything. My boss puts me on TV because he pays me money to be there. To know that much money is at stake 25 years after the Attitude Era, it blows my mind. This is a great time for the business and fans to be in it."

AEW recently secured a new multi-year television contract with Warner Bros. Discovery that will see the young promotion's content featured on the MAX streaming service. Whether Jericho signs another deal with the company remains to be seen.
