Massive update on what happens if AEW goes after WWE ID talents - Reports
WWE recently made an important announcement regarding independent wrestlers, which has raised many questions about where AEW stands in the situation. A new report has revealed what happens if Tony Khan decides to sign one of the talents from promotions that are part of the program.
The WWE ID program has been labeled as a first-of-its-kind development opportunity that allows independent wrestlers to have a path to the Stamford-based promotion. Many have wondered how this new initiative affects other promotions like AEW, NJPW, and more.
In a recent report by Bryan Alvarez on the Wrestling Observer Radio, it was revealed that the Triple H-led promotion would be willing to give a choice to their independent contractors if they get an offer from All Elite Wrestling. The promotion will tell the talent whether they will be featured on NXT.
"If you're under this deal, it's essentially, if you get an offer from AEW and you're under one of these deals, you do have to tell WWE first, and they have the right to say, 'Okay, well, we want to sign you to a deal and send you to NXT', or they can say, 'Go for it, take the offer, we're not interested.'"
