Massive update on Sting after teasing return at AEW All In - Reports
AEW star Sting recently teased his return to the company after a major announcement by Tony Khan for next year's All In. The All Elite President announced that All In is coming to Arlington, Texas next year which seemingly caught the attention of The Icon, and recent reports have shed some light on the massive tease.
The Vigilante retired at AEW Revolution Pay-Per-View earlier this year after he and Darby Allin competed in a Tornado Tag Team Match for the World Tag Team Titles against The Young Bucks. Sting has not been seen in the company since. However, Darby Allin recently revealed that the Hall of Famer has been present backstage at the past few Collision shows.
In a recent report by Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp, it was revealed that Sting has been present backstage at some recent All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor tapings in Texas as he lives nearby. He also surprised Darby Allin after watching some of his matches on AEW Collision. The Icon is still on the company's roster page despite not being an active competitor.
Lex Luger heaps praise on Sting's retirement match in AEW
Sting's retirement match at AEW Revolution was attended by many of his close friends and wrestling veterans like Ric Flair, Lex Luger, and more. In a recent chat with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Senior Editor Bill Apter, Lex Luger praised the booking of Sting's final match. He also spoke about the longevity of The Icon's wrestling career.
"I did [see Sting's retirement], I was there," Luger said. "They allowed me to be there. It was fabulous. What a career. Who would have imagined spanning five decades of time, really? 80s, 90s, 2000s, 10s, into five decades. Absolutely incredible. I didn't know [how Sting would retire], but I thought it was great. The way they did it, I thought it was fabulous, Bill."
Sting has not appeared in All Elite Wrestling since the Revolution PPV. It will be interesting to see if The Vigilante makes an appearance at the upcoming All In Pay-Per-View.
