Mastermind behind Jon Moxley's Death Riders in AEW revealed - Reports
AEW World Champion Jon Moxley has been destroying the locker room along with his Death Riders for the past month. Recent reports have revealed the name behind the top storyline in Tony Khan's promotion.
Jon Moxley returned to AEW in September with a new character. He fully cemented his heel turn after turning on Bryan Danielson at All Out and recruiting Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, Marina Shafir, and Wheeler Yuta for the ride.
The former WWE star defeated Bryan Danielson for the All Elite Wrestling World Championship at WrestleDream and has put the entire locker room on his radar by launching beatdowns on talents. The World Champion has also renamed the Blackpool Combat Club, the 'Death Riders.'
According to a recent report by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jon Moxley is the man actually behind his current Death Riders storyline in All Elite Wrestling. Tony Khan had agreed to Moxley's pitch for the angle and is still overseeing all the presentation on television.
"The current AEW/Death Riders storyline is Jon Moxley’s deal as far as the angle goes, and Tony Khan was agreeable to do it. Tony Khan is still overseeing it, like everything on the television, but a lot of the ideas and verbiage is coming from Moxley," stated WON.
Tommy Dreamer reacts to Jon Moxley's recent AEW promo
Jon Moxley is set to defend his AEW World Championship against Orange Cassidy at the Full Gear PPV. During the recent edition of Dynamite, Moxley cut a heated promo towards his challenger and made things personal with the Freshly Squeezed star.
In a recent edition of the Busted Open After Dark podcast, wrestling legend Tommy Dreamer spoke about the promo and questioned why the crowd cheered for Jon Moxley during the segment. He encouraged the fans to boo the bad guy after such segments.
"If I could go back to the Moxley promo. This promo was a generic bad-guy promo. All the stuff he's going to do to Orange Cassidy who's the beloved babyface. I'm gonna beat you up. You're mom's not gonna recognize you. I'm gonna hurt you. I'm gonna do all this stuff. And then his promo ends and they cheer. I'm like, 'Wait, what?'" he said.
We will have to wait and see if Jon Moxley keeps his word and brutalizes Orange Cassidy during their title match at the upcoming AEW Full Gear PPV.
