MJF set to make AEW history as world champion by November

MJF's run as AEW World Champion has received mixed responses online, especially as he goes through multiple angles with different stars. Despite this, come November 2023, Friedman will make history.

Across AEW's existence, several stars have already held the AEW World Champion. From inaugural champion Chris Jericho to CM Punk, especially Kenny Omega, the belt has become a prestigious piece of gold.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Maxwell Jacob Friedman will break Kenny Omega's record as longest reigning AEW World Champion on the 1st of November:

"MJF will break the record of the longest-reigning AEW champion on 11/1 when he surpasses the 346-day record of Kenny Omega."

Recently, AEW introduced Friedman's online social media back-and-forth with Max Caster into a television story. During a recent podcast episode, Jim Cornette reviewed the angle and slammed it for taking attention away from the World Champion's feud with Jay White.

MJF filmed a small role for an upcoming movie and was praised by those he worked for

Friedman's role as Lance Von Erich in this year's Iron Claw biopic starring Zac Efron is well known by now, but it seems that the AEW World Champion is testing out his acting chops in other projects.

According to Wrestling Observer, Maxwell Jacob Friedman will have a small role in an upcoming movie, Floaters, starring Seth Green. Additionally, an unnamed source claimed the star was "incredibly sweet in person."

"MJF recently filmed a small role in the movie “Floaters,” which stars Seth Green, Steve Guttenberg and Aya Cash. The movie was filmed at a Jewish summer camp in upstate New York. He plays a musician in the movie and one person involved said, “Max was incredibly sweet in person.” MJF also has a voice-acting project coming out."

Little is known about the movie at this time and just how small Friedman's role will be in it. Interestingly, his good nature seems far more prevalent in real life than not. Additionally, the star might just have a future in Hollywood if he keeps picking up small roles like these.
