No timetable for former champion’s AEW return [Reports]

A top AEW star is reportedly not ready to return to action yet. The star being discussed is Mark Davis. He was a tag team member of Aussie Open alongside Kyle Fletcher and the duo were former ROH World Tag Team Champions.

The 34-year-old star has been known for his time in NJPW where he gained popularity in the Japan-based promotion. He then made his AEW debut in June 2022 while teaming up with Kyle Fletcher and Will Ospreay against FTR and Trent Beretta on an episode of Rampage. He was largely featured on AEW and ROH in 2023.

Unfortunately, at the WrestleDream Pay-Per-View, Mark Davis injured his wrist during his match with FTR while teaming up with The Protostar. He hasn't been seen in the promotion since then. Meanwhile, his Aussie Open teammate Fletcher has been trying to make a name for himself on the flagship show.

Recently, Fightful reported that Davis isn't yet scheduled to return to the squared circle. The report also claimed that he was still recovering from his injury.

AEW's Kyle Fletcher believes the landscape has changed during Mark Davis' absence

The Protostar has been involved in huge matches recently since he has been shining as a singles star for over a year now.

While speaking with Inside the Ring, Kyle Fletcher revealed the future of the Aussie Open was uncertain as he has greatly improved while Davis is currently sidelined with injury.

"As far as it comes to Aussie Open in the future... It’s very hard to say, right? Because he’s been gone for close to a year now... It awas WrestleDream last year, was the last time that we saw him, and a lot has happened since then. I’ve been in the ring with Kenny Omega, Bryan Danielson, Will Ospreay, all these people, and I’ve grown and changed so much. So, I think when it comes to him returning, when he does return... The landscape might be different," he said.

It remains to be seen when Mark Davis will return to the squared circle.
