Real reason behind Saraya's (fka Paige) AEW absence disclosed - Reports
An update on Saraya (fka Paige) following her brief hiatus from AEW has emerged. The report noted the reason for her absence, but no timeline regarding a return was mentioned.
The former AEW Women's World Champion was last seen on the October 8 episode of Dynamite, when she participated in a Four-Way match to decide Mariah May's challenger at WrestleDream pay-per-view. This ended up being Willow Nightingale. In her stead, Harley Cameron has been holding her own, competing in three matches since, and constantly providing entertainment on Rampage and Collision.
On Fightful Wrestling's Q&A session, it was reported that Saraya was not incapacitated. She recently signed a one-year extension with AEW, but as of writing, she still remains out of action as she is currently working on some non-wrestling projects. The report did not disclose when a potential return could take place.
What has Saraya been working on in her absence?
Saraya has not been seen in AEW for more than a month. She was previously in a feud with Jamie Hayter, as the latter was looking to get revenge on all those who wronged her before her hiatus from the company. The former WWE Diva lost the feud and thus began her inactivity from the company.
Back in September, she revealed that her upcoming book Hell in Boots: Clawing My Way Through Nine Lives was now available for pre-order. It was noted that she is set to record the audiobook version, one of the things she has been working on following her absence from AEW.
No information has been provided regarding the timeline of this release or her potential on-screen return. For now, Harley Cameron has been holding down the fort, and she'll be the one making an appearance later tonight on Collision, where she'll face Mina Shirakawa in singles action.
