Reason for major AEW star’s absence disclosed - Reports
A recently released report has revealed why a top AEW star was absent from the promotion for some time now. The star being discussed is Komander.
The 25-year-old star is arguably one of the biggest highflyers in the promotion right now. His agility is unmatched by any other star on the roster. He made his debut in the Tony Khan-based promotion in March 2024 and was signed to the company after a year. He last wrestled in the April 24 edition of Dynamite, where he was a part of the Casino Gauntlet match. He is also a top star in AAA.
Meanwhile, Beast Mortos is a top monster in the company. Despite his huge stature, the star moves like a highflyer in the ring. He has been with AEW since 2023, however, he has not yet signed with the company. His last match in AEW took place in the April 27 Collision episode where he lost to Rey Fenix. Komander and Mortos have been absent from the promotion for a few weeks now.
As per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the two stars have been absent due to visa issues. Nevertheless, the documents have been reportedly renewed and they should be in action soon.
Komander could be barred from certain AEW shows
Differences between AAA and CMLL have been an ongoing issue for AEW and its stars, especially ahead of Forbidden Door Pay-Per-View.
As per a recent report by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Komander will not be featured on certain AEW shows as he is the reigning AAA World Cruiserweight Champion, and therefore will not work with any CMLL talent.
"It is confirmed that unless things change, that Komander, since he holds the AAA Cruiserweight Title, would not be allowed to work on shows with CMLL talent, nor would El Hijo del Vikingo when he is healthy. If things are consistent, Bandido, when he’s back, should fit into the category with Fenix," stated Meltzer.
It remains to be seen when the 25-year-old star would return to the Tony Khan-based promotion in the future now that his visa issues are reportedly sorted out.
