Samoa Joe's future revealed amid AEW absence - Reports

Former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe has been absent from television for the past few months. According to recent reports, Joe is set to return soon.

Samoa Joe took time off from AEW to film the second season of Twisted Metal. He was last seen in a brutal Street Fight against Chris Jericho where Joe was driven through a wall, as a way to write him off television.

According to a recent report by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Twisted Metal has finished filming and Samoa Joe will be returning to All Elite Wrestling soon.

"Samoa Joe will be available to come back soon, as Twisted Metal 2 just finished filming its season."

AEW star Samoa Joe praises a WWE decision

Former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe was a part of WWE before coming to the Jacksonville-based promotion. Joe is a former three-time NXT Champion and the veteran recently recalled WWE's decision to put the NXT Title on him at a live event.

In an interview, The Samoan Submission Machine opened up about defeating The Demon Finn Balor to become NXT Champion at an NXT live event. Samoa Joe called it one of the most brilliant decisions as it helped bring a lot of eyes to an up-and-coming brand like NXT.

"I thought it was one of the most brilliant things that we did. When you're building a new brand and an imprint like we were in 'NXT,' you know a major thing is we want people to come to our live events. We were running live events around the nation, and if you knew if you showed up to an 'NXT' live event that a world title could change hands, I mean it just makes that event so much more exciting," said Samoa Joe.
