Shane McMahon has allegedly contacted AEW stars and discussed a game-changing idea

Shane McMahon has been part of WWE for decades. He made a name for himself during the Attitude Era by competing in several hard-hitting matches. After World Wrestling Entertainment merged with UFC, there has been widespread speculation about McMahon's future in pro wrestling. Prominent podcaster Conrad Thompson recently made an interesting claim regarding the 54-year-old.

On the Grilling JR podcast, the show's co-host, Conrad Thompson, spoke about how his and Jim Ross' common friend contacted him about the rumors of Shane McMahon possibly joining AEW.

Thompson claimed that McMahon allegedly reached out to AEW wrestlers to discuss the idea of joining the company. In response, Jim Ross said the prospect of Vince McMahon's son working with the Tony Khan-led company wasn't out of the question.

"That's not as crazy as you think. I know for sure that Shane McMahon has reached out to wrestlers on the AEW roster to at least hypothetically discuss the idea. Are we saying that it's going to happen? No. What we are saying, it's not that crazy of an idea. It could happen, right?" Thompson said. [33:31 - 33:54]

Since AEW's inception, Tony Khan has hired several popular wrestlers who earlier performed in WWE like Ric Flair, Adam Copeland, and Bryan Danielson. However, if Khan signs Shane McMahon to All Elite Wrestling, it could change the landscape of pro wrestling.

Shane-O-Mac has wowed audiences with his high-risk wrestling style in the past. The 54-year-old's barbaric match against Kurt Angle at King of the Ring 2001 is still fresh in fans' minds. Moreover, he is widely considered one of the most entertaining authority figures on WWE programming.

The former WWE Hardcore Champion's last match took place at WrestleMania 39, where he faced The Miz. During the bout, he sustained an injury while attempting to perform a leapfrog. He tore his quad and has since been away from in-ring competition.

A fan recently bumped into McMahon during a Yankees game. He shared a picture with the Attitude Era veteran, and the latter seemed to be in good health.

It remains to be seen whether McMahon will ever return to the ring. Will he join AEW or remain with WWE? Fans must stay tuned to find out.
