The truth about AEW's unprotected chair shot at Blood & Guts revealed - Reports

The latest report has potentially disclosed the secret behind the seemingly unprotected chair shot at AEW Blood & Guts this week. The chair shot has been the topic of discussion since last night.

Last night on the Blood & Guts special episode of Dynamite, Team Elite (The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry, and Hangman Page) went to war with Team AEW (The Acclaimed, Mark Briscoe, Darby Allin, and Swerve Strickland) in the titular match.

While the match was filled with violent spots, Mark Briscoe hitting a steel chair on Jack Perry's head when The Scapegoat was handcuffed to the cage became the biggest talking point. The company faced a lot of backlash for the seemingly unprotected chair shot. Meanwhile, Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio has uncovered the truth behind the violent spot.

During the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio recently, Alvarez noted that the steel chair was gimmicked and shaved down to reduce its impact.

"I can tell you this; it was one of the shaved down chairs. I don't know how shaved down that is; I don't know how soft that is, but it was a gimmicked chair. But still, they waffled that dude with that chair," he noted. [H/T: WOR]

An All In 2024 match made official during AEW Blood & Guts

During a violent and brutal encounter between Team AEW and Team Elite, Darby Allin threatened to set Jack Perry on fire, as the former demanded a shot at The Scapegoat's TNT Title at All In 2024.

Matthew Jackson of The Young Bucks eventually gave the title shot to Darby at Wembley and accepted his team's defeat in the hellacious match.

Darby Allin is a two-time TNT Champion. It will be interesting to see if the 31-year-old claims the TNT Title at Wembley.
