Tony Khan has "personally devised" AEW's new masked character, identity revealed - Reports

AEW President Tony Khan reportedly formulated the character of a mystery masked man, whose vignettes aired last week during an episode of Collision. During last Saturday's episode of AEW Collision, a short clip featured a gray screen with a computer language writing hologram.

Later, the video featured a man running into a portal and going into a time warp. A visual of a masked man was also seen at the end of the vignette. Many fans on the internet began speculating that the man behind the mask was former WWE Superstar Ricochet, as he has been rumored to make his All Elite debut since he departed from the Starmford-based promotion.

However, the Ricochet theory was debunked after Bodyslam.net's Cassidy Haynes reported that the masked man was the Mexican Luchador, Aramis (aka Hologram). Meanwhile, there seem to be more updates on the masked men's potential creative plans and debut, according to the latest report by PWInsider.

The report revealed that Aramis signed a contract with AEW in February 2024 but has yet to feature on TV. Furthermore, the report stated that this new luchador character was "personally devised" by Tony Khan, and the character is reportedly set to be a babyface.

Tony Khan is open to welcoming a major former WWE personality

Media reports recently suggested that former WWE Executive Vice President of Global Media Shane McMahon could become All Elite.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Tony Khan said that while he had never met Shane O'Mac, he had a lot of respect for The Prodigal Son. The AEW CEO also stated that Shane was ''always welcome'' in his promotion.

“I heard the rumor he [Shane McMahon] might be interested. I’ve never met Shane, but we have a lot of mutual friends. I have a lot of respect for him as an executive and a professional wrestler. Shane is always welcome in AEW,” Tony said.

It will be interesting to see if Shane joins Tony Khan's promotion in the coming days.
