Tony Khan quietly renews major AEW name's deal ahead of potential WWE change - Reports
Tony Khan has reportedly renewed the contract of a major AEW personnel. This comes when WWE has seemingly been looking to make changes within its company in similar roles. This would be music producer Mikey Rukus.
Rukus has been with the promotion since 2019. He has produced several of the roster's iconic theme songs, and his recent work includes the entrance music of Mariah May, Toni Storm, Kris Statlander, and the Young Bucks. On the other hand, WWE seems to be shifting away from Def Rebel, as his contract may not be renewed, and the company could explore other options.
Fightful Select just reported that Mikey Rukus has signed a new deal with AEW and will continue to play a big role in the company's development. The agreement was disclosed to have been made in recent months, but its duration was not mentioned in the report.
Mikey Rukus plans on staying with AEW till he retires
With WWE looking to bring in a new music producer moving forward, Mikey Rukus confirmed that he wasn't planning on making any moves anytime soon and for the foreseeable future.
Last month, when reports came in that Def Rebel's contract had not been renewed, Rukus clarified his allegiances and mentioned that he had no plans to work for another wrestling promotion apart from All Elite Wrestling.
On X/Twitter, he mentioned that he was happy where he was and that he had no plans to leave until he retired for good.
"AEW is my home. I am very happy here and wish to remain here until I retire," said Rukus.
Despite recent concerns with the promotion, one thing that fans may not deny is how great the wrestlers' theme songs are. With Mikey Rukus on the helm, this may not change anytime soon.
