Update on Britt Baker's absence from AEW Dynamite - Reports
Britt Baker returned to AEW TV in June 2024 after a hiatus. However, according to some fans, her latest run has been quite underwhelming. The D.M.D. was also pulled from this week's Dynamite, and recent reports have unveiled the reason behind her absence.
All Elite Wrestling presented Dynamite: Title Tuesday earlier this week, where it was announced that Willow Nightingale would face Britt Baker for an opportunity at Mariah May's Women's World Championship at WrestleDream.
However, after Britt was unable to compete on Dynamite, the company booked a Four-way Number One Contender's Match, in which Willow Nightingale took on Jamie Hayter, Nyla Rose, and Saraya. Nightingale emerged victorious and punched her ticket to WrestleDream.
In a recent update by PWInsider on X (Twitter), it was revealed that Britt Baker was removed from Dynamite due to strep throat.
"Britt Baker missed AEW due to strep throat," the post stated.
Britt Baker loves watching both AEW and WWE
In a recent interview with Fightful, Britt Baker opened up about her passion for professional wrestling. The D.M.D. reflected on the hate she received from some fans and how it affected her.
Baker further revealed that she loved professional wrestling and religiously watched both WWE and All Elite Wrestling.
"I'm at the point in my career where I'm happy. I know what goes on and what doesn't. Whatever you heard about me, it's true. Whatever you heard I said, it's true. I said it; I did it; I don't care, because it gets to a point where it's laughable. You can't lose sleep; you can't sit at home and cry because people say you're a bully; you're this; you're that. At the end of the day, my priority and passion is pro wrestling. I love the AEW Women's Division; I love AEW; I love pro wrestling. I watch both companies religiously," she said. [09:11 to 09:43]
