Update on a massive AEW star returning as the Owen Hart Cup wild card - Reports

The latest report provided a potential update regarding the wild card participant in the ongoing AEW Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. The wild card will take on Jeff Jarrett in the first round of the tournament.

On Dynamite this past Wednesday, the company EVPs, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson announced that they are inserting a wild card participant in the ongoing Owen Hart Cup in order to bring back the World Title to The Elite. The announcement potentially hinted at former AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page entering the tournament.

Meanwhile, a recent report by Fightful Select stated that many suspect the wild card participant to be Hangman Page who has not been on TV since the Revolution Pay-Per-View earlier this year. It was also reported that Hangman has been out due to personal reasons and is not injured.

Furthermore, the report revealed that the company was always aware that Page would be making his return by the end of June or early in July. The report concluded by saying the creative plans could change anytime but Hangman was discussed for the tournament.

Well, it would be interesting to see if Hangman Page would be the one to face Jeff Jarrett in the first round of the tournament and how far he goes if that's the case.


Current standings in the ongoing AEW Owen Hart Cup

The Owen Hart Cup 2024 kicked off a few weeks ago with the announcement that the winner will challenge the AEW World Champion at All In 2024. Currently PAC and Jay White advanced in the tournament by winning their respecting matches. Bryan Danielson is set to take on Shingo Takagi this Sunday at the Forbidden Door in the first round.

Moreover, Jeff Jarrett will take on the undisclosed wild card participant in a first-round match. Only time will tell who manages to emerge victorious in the Owen Hart Cup.
