Why AEW Full Gear concluded in chaos - Reports
AEW Full Gear was a huge pay-per-view for the promotion and featured several major matches. The entire Prudential Center was on its feet for the majority of the event. While the show was mostly well-received, many fans failed to fathom the ending. The main event of the pay-per-view saw Jon Moxley retain the AEW World Championship against Orange Cassidy after a bloody battle.
Following the contest, Hangman Page came to the ring and had a brief confrontation with Moxley. He was soon followed by Christian Cage, who hit the champion with a KillSwitch. While Cage was attempting to cash in his contract, Jay White crashed the scene. The final moments of the contest saw the Death Riders retaliate and exit to the parking lot, where their truck was run into by none other than Darby Allin.
Many were left confused as to what Full Gear's ending meant and how it might affect the future. According to PWInsider, the show's climax was done this way simply to convey the number of challengers coming after Jon Moxley's AEW World Championship.
Reports claim scary details about Darby Allin's stunt at AEW Full Gear
After a messy climax to the main event, Jon Moxley and the Death Riders were returning to their pickup truck. However, they were stopped by Darby Allin, who came careening into the lot and crashed his car into their vehicle.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio's Bryan Alvarez, the former TNT Champion was actually driving the car and not a stunt driver.
"Limping, covered in blood out of the other car is Darby [Allin]. I could tell you, It wasn't a stuntman, he was driving the car. I think he damn near killed himself because he gets out of the car, he’s covered in blood. He’s supposed to get on the truck he ran into and destroy it with a skateboard…he slips off the truck, falls, and finally gets up there all woozy," he said.
It will be interesting to see what is next for AEW World Champion Jon Moxley.
