WWE Hall of Famer could end his 38-year legendary career soon

The WWE Hall of Fame includes many of the biggest names in pro wrestling, and while most of the names in it are retired, Sting has yet to hang up his boots. But according to Dave Meltzer, The Icon could be retiring at All In 2023.

Sting's retirement was initially teased at the beginning of the year, but so far, there has been no announcement on the matter. While he originally retired while signed to WWE, the veteran's return with AEW has always been seen as his way of ending his career on his own terms.

During a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated why he believes that it's a no-brainer that Sting's retirement will be booked for AEW All In.

"To me, and this is my thought, you have to do the Sting retirement at this, because where is Sting — where [are] you gonna get 60, 70, 80,000 people, whatever it is for Sting’s retirement? That’s too perfect. You can’t get that in the United States," Meltzer said.

In the joint book by Charlotte and Ric Flair, Second Nature: The Legacy of Ric Flair and the Rise of Charlotte, The Nature Girl confessed her childhood crush on The Icon and how she believed he was her boyfriend when she was seven years old.

Bill Apter believes Sting could have been a megastar in WWE if he joined the promotion earlier

Sting's brief run in WWE is often criticized by fans online, and many believed that the promotion buried him in order to finally seal their victory over WCW. Additionally, many wanted Sting to face The Undertaker at some stage, but unfortunately, even this didn't pan out.

During his appearance on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine, Apter speculated that The Icon would've had a better WWE tenure if he joined earlier.

"I think if Sting would have taken the job, he would have been one of the biggest megastars the company had ever seen. He got there too late, in my opinion," said Bill Apter. [5:09 - 5:21]

Fans can only wonder what Sting could have achieved in WWE if he joined the promotion instead of TNA. Could the 64-year-old have become a multi-time world champion, or would his career have gone the same way?
