WWE legend reportedly “hurt” following scary spot at AEW Double or Nothing
A WWE legend was reportedly hurt following a scary spot at AEW Double or Nothing 2024. The star in question is none other than Adam Copeland.
The Rated-R Superstar faced Malakai Black in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage match for the TNT Title in the culmination of a deeply personal feud. The bloody and violent match ended with Copeland making the former NXT Champion pass out courtesy of an assist from his WWE legend Gangrel, who made a surprising appearance during the bout to foil Black's stablemates, Buddy Matthews and Brody King.
At one point in the bout, Copeland placed Malakai on a barbed-wire-wrapped table and climbed to the top of the steel cage, proceeding to jump onto Black and put him through the table. The WWE Hall of Famer was seen landing awkwardly on his legs in the ring during the spot, prompting speculations regarding a potential injury among some fans. A new update has emerged regarding Copeland and his health status on social media.
Taking to X/Twitter, Wrestling journalist Bryan Alvarez reported that the 50-year-old star was hurt courtesy of the dive he took from the top of the steel cage, although he claimed to be unaware of how severely Copeland may have been hurt.
The journalist further reported that Jack Perry was fine after shockingly being lit on fire during the Anarchy in the Arena match between The Elite and Team AEW. His fellow "pillar" from the other team, Darby Allin, was also hurt, according to Alvarez, but he was examined at the hospital and has seemingly managed to avoid major injuries.
"Updates today: Copeland was hurt on the cage dive but I don't know the severity yet Jack Perry was fine after the fire spot, no issues Darby was hurt but got checked out at the hospital and it appears he is OK, no major injuries," wrote Alvarez.
