Samoa Joe to make AEW return after 5 months and brutally attack former WWE champion? Analyzing the chances
Former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe has been on a hiatus from programming; however, the veteran's return could be near. The Samoan Submission Machine could make his return by attacking former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Christian Cage, who has been targeting Joe's recent ally: Hook.
Former TNT Champion Christian Cage recently took out Hook's father Taz in the AEW parking lot. The Cold Hearted Handsome Devil has been looking for answers ever since the attack but he would need some allies to go up against Cage who has surrounded himself with The Patriarchy (Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian).
A returning Samoa Joe could even the odds by ambushing Christian Cage. Joe has been on a hiatus due to filming Twisted Metal 2; however, the show has wrapped production. Samoa Joe could even challenge Cage for his AEW World Title contract. Only time can tell what the promotion has in store for Joe's return.
AEW star Samoa Joe praises a past WWE decision
Samoa Joe instantly became a top star in NXT after his debut. He is a former three-time NXT Champion and one of his title victories came on an NXT Live Event, which shocked many wrestling fans. Samoa Joe defeated The Demon Finn Balor to win the NXT Title.
In a recent interview, Samoa Joe praised the decision to change the title of a live event. He explained how it made things exciting for a new brand like NXT in 2016.
"I thought it was one of the most brilliant things that we did. When you're building a new brand and an imprint like we were in 'NXT,' you know a major thing is we want people to come to our live events. We were running live events around the nation, and if you knew if you showed up to an 'NXT' live event that a world title could change hands, I mean it just makes that event so much more exciting," said Samoa Joe. Samoa Joe is currently away from AEW television. We will have to wait and see when the former World Champion makes his return to All Elite Wrestling.
