The Hurt Syndicate to kick out Shelton Benjamin and replace him with top AEW star? Exploring the chances
The Hurt Syndicate's Shelton Benjamin recently suffered a setback on AEW Dynamite. The faction confronted the veteran on the issue and could replace him with top AEW star Ricochet.
On the recent edition of AEW Dynamite, Shelton Benjamin went one-on-one against Kyle Fletcher in the Gold League of the Continental Classic Tournament. After a strong showing by both stars, Kyle Fletcher outsmarted The Standard of Excellence by rolling him up and putting his hands on the rope for the pinfall victory.
Following the match, MVP confronted Shelton Benjamin and reminded him of the true purpose of The Hurt Syndicate. He encouraged Benjamin to take things seriously in the squared circle and questioned why he didn't finish off Kyle Fletcher while he had the chance. Many have speculated that the promotion might have planted seeds for a potential split between Shelton Benjamin and The Hurt Syndicate.
MVP is always looking to add more members to the faction and the most talked about star to potentially join the group in the future is none other than Ricochet. The One and Only has discussed joining the faction before, stating that he could learn a lot from The Hurt Syndicate. Bobby Lashley has also spoken about adding him to the group. Ricochet can be an interesting addition to the Hurt Syndicate and he already has MVP's business card which can be an easy path for him to The Hurt Syndicate.
AEW star Ricochet on joining The Hurt Syndicate
In the past couple of months in AEW, Ricochet and The Hurt Syndicate debuted in the promotion. The One and Only got his dream match against Will Ospreay and is currently competing in the Continental Classic Tournament. Whereas The Hurt Syndicate is coming off a heated rivalry against Swerve Strickland.
In a recent chat on the Barstool Rasslin podcast, Ricochet spoke about joining The Hurt Syndicate and noted that he could learn some things from the faction. The former WWE star reflected on how he's always on the receiving end of beatings but it would be great to change the roles by joining the group:
"I think there are some things I could learn from the Hurt Syndicate, but man, it’s maybe how to hurt people. Really, yeah, I’m usually the one getting hurt. So, I bet hurting—doing the hurting—is awesome.” [H/T Ringside News]
We will have to wait and see if Ricochet joins The Hurt Syndicate in the near future.
