Tag team returning to AEW as Mercedes Mone's new faction members at All In? Exploring the chances
Mercedes Mone has established herself as the headlining act since making her AEW debut earlier this year. The CEO is the reigning AEW TBS Champion and NJPW Strong Women's Champion. Furthermore, she recently solidified her dominance by allying with the promotion's new signee, Kamille. Interestingly, Kamille has been compared to WWE Hall of Famer Chyna.
The erstwhile Sasha Banks will defend her TBS Title against Dr. Britt Baker at All In 2024 later this month. With Kamille by her side, Mone will have an added advantage. However, The D.M.D. should be prepared for the worst, as fans might witness a talented tag team returning to AEW and aligning with The CEO at Wembley Stadium.
Mone's rumored stable has been a topic of intense discussion among fans for quite some time. Several names have emerged, including The Tonga Twins. The Tonga Twins consist of twin sisters, Taahine and TalaVou. They have previously performed in AEW Dark. The twins are best known for their work in Women of Wrestling, where they held the WOW Tag Team Championship for more than 170 days.
The twins recently announced their departure from WOW and were recently spotted at WWE Performance Center, which fueled speculations that the popular tag team could be headed to the Sports Entertainment juggernaut. However, Taahine recently took to X (Twitter) and claimed that she would join AEW only if Mercedes Mone personally invited her.
Determined to defeat The Doctor at all costs, Mercedes Mone could reach out to The Tonga Twins and invite them to return to Tony Khan's promotion. The twins could show up at All In 2024 and cost Britt Baker the title match.
Why does the alliance of Mercedes Mone, Kamille, and The Tonga Twins make sense?
Mercedes Mone has predominantly wrestled as a lone wolf. However, during her decorated career in WWE, the erstwhile Sasha Banks was part of a stable called Team B.A.D., alongside Naomi and Tamina. Even though this stable was short-lived, it gave glimpses of Mone's ability to lead a group.
With Kamille already by her side, the addition of The Tonga Twins would not only help Mercedes establish her dominance over the women's roster, but Taahine and TalaVou's inclusion will also add depth to the entire division.
With All In just two weeks away, Tony Khan could make rapid moves and bring the sisters to his promotion. The duo could deliver a massive statement at Wembley Stadium by brutally attacking Britt Baker, alongside Kamille.
AEW could further introduce the Women's Tag Team Championship, which will further add a competitive edge to the women's division.
