The Hurt Syndicate to debut at AEW All Out and help a massive star win? Exploring the game-changing twist
AEW has an immensely talented roster that has evolved with time. Not only do they possess homegrown talents, but the Tony Khan-led promotion has signed several ex-WWE stars since its inception. The list includes Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Saraya, Samoa Joe, Chris Jericho, and more.
Media reports suggest that the promotion is set to sign some massive names who proved their worth in the Stamford-based company. A few days ago, former WWE Intercontinental Champion Ricochet became All Elite and made his anticipated debut at All In 2024 in the Casino Gauntlet Match. Interestingly, The Hurt Business could be set for a major revival under a brand new name in Tony Khan's company. Lashley and his stablemates could appear at All Out 2024 and align with former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland.
Bobby Lashley and MVP recently parted ways with WWE. Amid the rumors of the duo possibly joining AEW to revive the faction, Totally Harmless Concept (LLC) recently filed a new trademark for ''The Hurt Syndicate.'' According to Fightful Select, the trademark was filed on August 15, 2024. Interestingly, the same company had previously filed trademarks on ''MVP'' and ''Ghetto Strong Style.''
Notably, The Hurt Business, which consisted of MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander, was formed in 2020. The group was vastly successful and held several titles before it was disbanded in August 2022.
Since MVP, Lashley, and Benjamin are no longer part of WWE, there is a strong possibility that they could regroup in the Jacksonville-based promotion. The faction could make its presence felt at the All Out PPV by helping Swerve Strickland win the Steel Cage Match against Hangman Adam Page.
AEW can portray Bobby and Co. as a force to be reckoned with and make their debut memorable by showing Lashley and his team ripping the walls of the steel cage with their bare hands. The inclusion of a top star like Strickland will further add potency to the faction.
This could also set up an eventual showdown between Swerve Strickland and Bobby Lashley inside the squared circle. Both wrestlers are immensely talented and have years of experience. A match between them will be a sought-after affair.
However, the angle is purely speculative at this point. It will be interesting to see if Bobby Lashley and Co. join AEW in the coming weeks.
Swerve Strickland will face "Hangman" Adam Page at AEW All Out
Swerve Strickland and "Hangman" Adam Page have had a storied rivalry in AEW. At All In 2024, Page distracted Strickland during the latter's Title vs. Career Match against Bryan Danielson. The distraction helped The American Dragon hit The Running Knee and pick a monumental victory.
In the latest episode of Dynamite, the bitter rivals came face-to-face. Furthermore, Strickland challenged Hangman to a Steel cage Match at All Out. The match was later made official for the upcoming PPV.
"How about we lock them out and we lock us in? All Out. Steel Cage Match! What kind of man are you going to be in that cage,'' Swerve said.[H/T: AEW's official website]
It will be interesting to see if Bobby Lashley makes his presence felt during the Steel Cage Match.
