Tony Khan to bring in WWE Hall of Famer for a special appearance at AEW Blood & Guts? Exploring the chances

At this year's edition of AEW Blood and Guts, The Elite will be looking to assert their dominance within the promotion once more. Less than two weeks from today, they will face several stars again representing AEW.

With three names seemingly set for Team AEW, could a certain WWE Hall of Famer get involved in the match? This would be Sting. The last time everyone saw The Icon was during his retirement match at Revolution four months ago, as he defended the tag team titles with Darby Allin against The Young Bucks.

He has been vocal about his opposition to The EVPs, and now that his mentee will go to war against them once more, he could provide some assistance by making a quick appearance at the special event.

Darby Allin has teased joining Team AEW

A few days ago on Dynamite, Darby Allin was seen on the promotion for the first time since the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing, in which The Elite got the better of him, Bryan Danielson, and FTR.

He suddenly emerged by attacking Brandon Cutler, the stooge of The Young Bucks, before calling out the EVPs for Dynamite 250 next week. While he did not announce that he was joining the Blood and Guts match, this seems to be his current direction.

If he is on board for the match, he will join Mark Briscoe and Swerve Strickland as opponents of The Elite.

Heading into Revolution a few months ago, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson believed they were the favorites for the match. The brothers claimed they would expose and embarrass Sting during his retirement match.

In the end, this did not go according to plan. Not only did the Hall of Famer and Darby Allin defend their title, but Sting ended his run with AEW with an undefeated streak.

Despite some time passing, he still has never lost to The EVPs and would certainly be a factor should he meddle in their affairs.

At Revolution, Sting competed in his final match as a competitor, and this seems like it's for good now. However, Tony Khan has left the door open for any appearance from The Icon in the future.

At the media scrum after the pay-per-view four months ago, TK talked to Sting about him possibly making future appearances. The Hall of Famer did not want to be a manager, so he wasn't sure how to contribute.

Khan assured him that he was still an important part of the company and that they would want him back in the future.

"You're one of the greatest legends, not only... Certainly the greatest legend ever in AEW and one of the greatest wrestlers, if not the greatest wrestler of all time. Nobody's ever had a career that has spanned more than yours, and what you've done for us here, we're all in your debt. So, please, not only is the door always welcome and open for you, but I hope you will be back, and like I've said, we'll figure it out. We want you here," said Tony Khan.

It remains to be seen whether Blood and Guts is where Sting makes a surprise appearance. With The Elite being on a great streak as recently, Team AEW may need all the help they can get.
