Tony Khan has dropped the ball with major AEW star

AEW President Tony Khan has been hailed as a visionary, steering his promotion, and he is known for booking the talent right. However, recent developments suggest that Khan may have fumbled the ball with one of his major stars, Keith Lee.

Lee was a former NXT Champion and North American Champion in WWE, and he was widely expected to be a major star in AEW when he signed with the company in 2022. Since his debut in Tony Khan's promotion, Keith Lee has struggled to find his footing despite his immense potential.

Lee has been booked in a very inconsistent manner since he arrived in AEW in February 2022. He has won some significant matches, such as becoming the AEW World Tag Team Champion with Swerve Strickland.

Additionally, The Limitless One has been involved in several feuds that have gone nowhere, like the example of the Swerve Strickland feud, which abruptly ended after Strickland betrayed him.

Fans know the potential Keith Lee possesses as they witnessed it during his time in WWE NXT, where he was a top star on the brand and competed in great matches with superstars like Adam Cole, Karrion Kross, Dominik Dijakovic, and Johnny Gargano. He was the first person to hold the NXT and North American Championships simultaneously.

Fans also remember his infamous debut at the Royal Rumble, where he came face-to-face with Brock Lesnar.

If Tony Khan does things right, Lee will be able to reach his full potential and become a major star in his promotion.

AEW star Swerve Strickland on having a match with former tag team partner Keith Lee

Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland were the AEW World Tag Team Champions before Strickland turned heel on Lee, officially starting their rivalry, which was abruptly ended.

During an interview with the Battleground Podcast, AEW star Swerve Strickland made it clear that he was actively seeking a match with Keith Lee.

"I'm still looking for Keith Lee, where has he been? I'll settle any score, anywhere, it doesn't matter to me. It's almost like those fighters in a boxing fight. Make the fight. I'm not the booker. I'm not the guy controlling the money on this whole thing. Set the fight up, I'll be there. I might lose the weigh-in, but I'll be there for the fight," Strickland said. [H/T Fightful]
