Tony Khan to pull off a big swerve with AEW stars rumored to be joining WWE? Looking at the chances
Tony Khan's AEW is all set to stage All In 2024 at the Wembley Stadium later this weekend. Meanwhile, the 41-year-old could pull off a major swerve involving the All Elite Originals, who are currently rumored to jump ship to WWE. Khan could use the stars in a match at the upcoming showpiece event this Sunday.
The stars in question are former AEW World Tag Team Champions, The Lucha Brothers. Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix have been with the Jacksonville-based promotion since its inception in 2019.
According to Fightful, Penta and Fenix are set to join the Sports Entertainment juggernaut as soon as their current contract expires. The duo hasn't appeared on AEW TV since the July 17, 2024, episode of Rampage. Nonetheless, Tony Khan could pull a major swerve amid the rumors and put The Lucha Brothers on the All In card.
It was announced on Collision last Saturday that The Patriarchy will defend their AEW World Trios Championship against Bang Bang Gang, House of Black, and another trio, which will be decided through a Wildcard match this Saturday, in a Four-Way London Ladder Match.
Therefore, Penta and Fenix, along with their Death Triangle partner, PAC, could win the Wildcard Match and get added as the fourth trio in the London Ladder Match. However, the angle is speculative at this point.
Tony Khan makes a big announcement ahead of AEW All In 2024
Ahead of the upcoming All In PPV at Wembley Stadium, AEW CEO Tony Khan recently announced that the showpiece event will return to England in 2026. Notably, the promotion recently announced that the 2025 edition of All In will take place in Arlington, Texas.
Speaking on the Dan Le Batard Show, Khan also revealed that the company had ''some big plans'' for an event in the United Kingdom next year.
"We love having AEW at Wembley Stadium, and we're back in 2026 in England. Absolutely, we love doing a show in England, and we will be back in England in 2026, and you can bet you will see us there in 2025 as well. It won't be AEW All In; it'll be something different, but we got some big plans coming up next year as well," Khan said.
It will be interesting to see how the marquee event unfolds this Sunday.
