Top AEW star to walk out on Jon Moxley in a shocking twist at Full Gear 2024? Exploring the possibility
Jon Moxley is set to put his AEW World Title on the line at Full Gear in a few weeks in a highly-awaited match. Could one of his Death Riders walk out on him during the pay-per-view? This would be Wheeler Yuta.
Wheeler was the last of the Blackpool Combat Club to turn to Mox's side after he initially sided with Bryan Danielson. This all ended up being a ruse as he turned on The American Dragon, reuniting with the rest of the faction under the new AEW World Champion. However, it seems that even Mox has his reservations about the former ROH Pure Champion.
A few weeks ago on Dynamite, Jon Moxley used Wheeler Yuta as bait to bring out Orange Cassidy, even going as far as almost snapping his neck with a steel chair. Yuta and Cassidy have a history with one another, as they had a mentor-mentee relationship in the past. Mox has also tasked Yuta to take out Cassidy, but he has hesitated to do so on multiple occasions.
Wheeler may not be able to handle Jon Moxley and the Death Riders taking out Cassidy at Full Gear should they get the upper hand. Seeing as he witnessed their attack on Bryan Danielson, he may not wish to see another mentor of his suffer a gruesome attack and may walk out on the group, not participating in anything.
Jon Moxley is confident Wheeler Yuta is loyal to him
A few days ago on AEW Dynamite, the Death Riders jumped Orange Cassidy after their match. The match saw the former International Champion team up with Darby Allin to face PAC and Claudio Castagnoli.
The match ended up becoming a no-contest, with the other Death Riders getting involved. Jon Moxley took advantage of the chaos to choke out Orange from behind, which allowed the group to continue to attack him post-match. Wheeler Yuta did not hesitate this time, hitting Cassidy with a Busaiku Knee similar to Bryan Danielson's.
Backstage, Mox addressed the entire situation as he claimed that Wheeler was loyal to them now, as they had the same cause. He wanted to remind Cassidy and everyone else that he was now under his command.
"Being a nice guy doesn't buy loyalty. Money doesn't buy loyalty. Only a cause buys loyalty. He is not your friend. He is not your student. He doesn't belong to you, or Bryan Danielson, or anybody else. He is a soldier under my command," said Moxley.
It is still unclear if Yuta no longer has any hesitations regarding his former mentor, but seeing as he's going to war now, he'll have to firmly choose a side. With Mox being who he is now, he won't take any half-baked efforts.
