Top ex-WWE star to join House of Black after Malakai Black's AEW status drama? Exploring the possibility
A former champion in WWE could join the House of Black faction after what transpired between him and Malakai Black. The two squared off against each other on AEW Dynamite this past week.
This past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, Malakai Black made his singles return after months for a match against the ex-WWE star in question, Adam Cole. The two produced a great match as expected with Cole securing the win in the end. After the match, Cole offered a handshake to Black and also hugged him.
Many on the internet speculated that it could be the promotion's way to bid farewell to Black before he leaves or retires. However, it was later revealed that neither was the case. After all the drama on Dynamite this past week, it seems Adam Cole could join the House of Black.
Cole offering respect to Malakai even after defeating him could hint at The Panama City Playboy potentially ditching Roderick Strong and The Undisputed Kingdom and joining forces with Brody King, Buddy Matthews, and Black during or after his ongoing feud with MJF. It will be interesting to see how the story plays out between Cole and Black after their match.
Malakai Black addressed his retirement rumors after AEW Dynamite
As mentioned earlier, fans were speculating that Malakai Black had either retired or left AEW after his moment with Adam Cole on Dynamite this past week. Nevertheless, Black shared a video on Instagram addressing the retirement rumors stating the following:
"Here we are once more, the match down, and again, everybody here is, 'Oh, he's retiring because of his injuries, and this and that!' Well, neither of these things. I'm not injured, nor am I retiring nor am I leaving. I feel this happens every match I have, and I don't understand how many times are you gonna say these things, and then not happening [sic], and people are still going to fall for that!"
Moreover, Black has made it clear that he is not retiring yet and only time will tell when he will be seen on TV again.
