What happened between Chris Jericho and newly signed AEW star? Current relationship after controversial dispute explored
Chris Jericho has found himself in several feuds and rivalries across the years. Recently, AEW signed a former WWE Superstar, but this was someone with real-life heat with Jericho. Just what is the current relationship between the two?
This would be MVP, someone the company officially debuted a few weeks ago. In 2022, it was reported that both former WWE Superstars got into a verbal altercation after running into each other at a hotel in Houston, TX. The tension may have begun due to a prior incident between them in 2020.
It was reported earlier this year that Chris Jericho was said to have been physically knocked out during the edition of his annual wrestling cruise event four years ago. The perpetrator was said to be MVP, and this began after an exchange of words during the event.
Fast forward to the present, and the two are now working for the same company once more. Fightful Select has just reported that during his first night in for AEW, the former Hurt Business member went to Jericho's locker room to hash things out and make sure that their past issues won't affect their current work.
Chris Jericho previously blocked MVP on social media
Another possible reason for their disputes was a disagreement that took place online in 2020. This was because MVP clapped back at the Learning Tree due to some differences in political views.
This was during the last presidential election in the USA. Chris Jericho posted on X/Twitter, wondering why it was taking so long to announce the winners. Porter did not like or agree with his sentiments, so he clapped back and asked him to delete them.
A few months later, MVP revealed that Jericho had blocked him on Twitter as he could not view any of his posts anymore. This situation on social media happened months after the supposed incident on the Jericho Cruise, so this may have been the tipping point for the former AEW World Champion to block him.
All seems to be good between the two veterans now, and hopefully, that stays true, seeing as they might be working with one another for years to come.
