WWE Hall of Famer to return and help Darby Allin beat Jon Moxley at AEW Grand Slam? Exploring the chances

Darby Allin and Jon Moxley have a date with Destiny at AEW Grand Slam. The enigma will put his world championship shot on the line against the former WWE star to ensure he builds on his legacy.

Now, let's not get things twisted. Darby seems to be at an extreme disadvantage in this match. Jon Moxley is a calculated individual who will do anything to get what he wants. We all saw how he and his Blackpool Combat Club stablemates attacked Bryan Danielson at All Out.

That attack made it clear that Moxley had his eyes set on Danielson’s title, and he made that clear on Dynamite this week as he asked Allin to hand over his title shot. To his credit, Darby Allin accepted the challenge and will put the shot on the line in their upcoming match. With the BCC's possible interference, Darby could count on WWE Hall of Famer Sting, who has always had Allin’s back. He did that at All In and will no doubt do that again.

Darby Allin went all the way for Sting

It is no secret that Darby Allin adores Sting, and that was evident at Sting’s final match at Revolution earlier this year.

Allin went through glass and had shards of them in his back. He was willing to go to those lengths to ensure the legend had a great sendoff. Just days before that match, Allin spoke on the Battleground Podcast and said:

"It scares me. This is the very last match, there is nothing left to lose. I think someone might go to the hospital. It's going to be a wild fight. I know that I'll stop at nothing to make sure it's one of the most memorable matches that he's ever had."

Sting did have a great sendoff, and he will always be grateful to Darby for that. If his protege calls him for backup at Grand Slam, then the WWE Hall of Famer will likely show up to even the odds against Jon Moxley and the Blackpool Combat Club.
