WWE Hall of Famer to return and help Team AEW beat The Elite at Blood and Guts 2024? Exploring the chances

Team AEW will be taking on The Elite at Blood and Guts 2024 and it is shaping up to be a great spectacle. This bout is turning out to be one that will surely have a lot of ups and downs for the fans.

The Elite have seemingly taken things to a whole new level as the bad guys. The Young Bucks, along with Kazuchika Okada and Jack Perry, have run riot and it started when they attacked Tony Khan. That caught everyone by surprise and it was something that no one saw coming.

Both teams are shaping nicely to take on each other. However, there is one name that Team AEW can use to get one over The Elite and it is a WWE Hall of Famer, and no, it is not Ric Flair.

It’s STING

Sting could make his much-awaited return to AEW. The Icon retired in March this year after he and Darby Allin successfully defended their tag team titles against The Young Bucks.

Since then, he has been gone and has not given any hints of coming back so far. But, Tony Khan always seems to have a plan. He is supposedly very close with Sting and could look to him for help to take out The Elite. Sting has gotten one over The Bucks already and that could play against them if he does show up.

The Darby Allin factor

Darby Allin was confirmed to be the fifth and final member of team AEW on Dynamite 250. Like Sting, he descended from the rafters and went after The Elite. The fact that he is involved could prompt The Vigilante to show up.

With Sting by his side, Darby could go the extra mile and help his team overcome The Bucks and The Elite. That would be one of the most iconic scenarios if it did come to fruition.

Sting could become an authority figure in AEW

Given that Sting’s wrestling days are now firmly behind him, an on-screen authority role could tempt the former WCW man into making a comeback. Having Sting run the show in the absence of Tony Khan could keep The Elite in check in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

His presence would also mean that the rest of the roster who side with The Elite, with the belief they can cut corners, will have their work cut out when it comes to someone like The Icon running the show.
