WWE legend to debut in AEW and replace Tony Khan as the owner of the company? Exploring potential swerve
Tony Khan has undoubtedly been able to create a viable alternative to WWE in AEW. All Elite Wrestling is now the Stamford-based promotion's first legitimate competitor since the Monday Night War.
Although Tony Khan predominantly operates his company from behind the cameras, he occasionally appears on TV. The 41-year-old is not a major on-screen figure, but this can change in the future. With WWE legend Shane McMahon heavily rumored to join All Elite Wrestling, an important storyline can unfold in the coming weeks. McMahon can replace Khan as the promotion's owner.
Long-time wrestling fans might remember the time when Vince McMahon's son purchased WCW and the priceless reaction the billionaire gave to this development. Something similar could happen in All Elite Wrestling.
The company could produce a storyline showcasing Tony Khan slowly losing all his power and influence in the company. To rectify the situation, he could bring the former SmackDown commissioner to All Elite Wrestling. However, this could backfire, as McMahon could use a few loopholes and end up becoming the organization's new owner.
A storyline like this could completely change the future of the company for good. It could deliver several exciting mini-feuds and segments.
AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné thinks Shane McMahon has "unfinished business" with the wrestling industry
In a recent issue of Mone Mag Volume Two, AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné discussed Shane McMahon's future in pro wrestling. The CEO believed McMahon had "unfinished business" with the industry. The two know each other from their time in WWE.
"Seeing Shane's incredible heart and passion for wrestling makes me think he has a lot of unfinished business. It also makes me think, is Shane coming to AEW? I'm here for it, and I'm sure our roster is too. Regardless, it just seems like Shane belongs in the wrestling business," she wrote.
As of now, it is not known whether Shane McMahon will make his debut in All Elite Wrestling.
