WWE RAW: Retired wrestler to appear for the first time in over 7 years and confront Cody Rhodes tonight? Looking at the chances
Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso had a rough outing on Monday Night RAW last week.
The tandem lost their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships to Finn Balor and Damian Priest of The Judgment Day, thanks to Jimmy Uso for screwing over his brother once again.
Unless The American Nightmare and Main Event Jey get a rematch, the duo have no clear direction for WWE Crown Jewel on November 4. But could a retired Superstar return after a seven-year absence to confront Cody Rhodes on WWE RAW tonight? The name in question is none other than his spouse, Brandi Rhodes.
It's no secret that losing a title a mere nine days after winning it is a tough pill to swallow, especially for Cody Rhodes, who was robbed of a potential title win at WrestleMania 39.
A few weeks ago, Michael Cole pressed The American Nightmare with some hard-hitting questions, and reminded him of his original goal in WWE - Finish the Story. The play-by-play commentator wondered whether Cody was still intent on finishing his story or scared to go after the Undisputed Universal Championship for fear of losing again and letting his fans down.
These high-profile losses must have killed the momentum of the 38-year-old Superstar, which is why Brandi Rhodes needs to show up on RAW tonight.
If there's anyone who can help create a fire inside Cody Rhodes again and make him realize his dream, it's his spouse, Brandi Rhodes.
A segment of this magnitude would prompt the former AEW EVP to shift his focus toward winning the Royal Rumble 2024 and get the fans behind him once again in his quest to usurp The Head of the Table.
Cody Rhodes breaks silence on losing Undisputed Tag Team title
In a chat with WWE Deutschland, Cody Rhodes stated that his feud with The Judgment Day has tested his limits at every turn.
However, The American Nightmare doesn't want to be on the losing end:
"I'm not thrilled at what happened. And I feel like fans of Jey Uso and myself are not thrilled. We were having such a fun thing, and for it to end abruptly, okay. But I will say this, I feel like I've been tested, and looks like I'm going to be further tested by Finn Balor, by Damian Priest, by Rhea Ripley, by JD McDonagh even, and of course, I have to say Dom as well. They have tested me pretty much since like WrestleMania, last year. It's a fun game to play, you don't want to be on the losing end, but it's a fun game to play," said Cody Rhodes.
With Crown Jewel fast approaching, it will be interesting to see what the company has in store for him and Jey Uso. Will the duo get another shot at tag team titles? Only time will tell.
