WWE veteran to make AEW debut and unveil himself as the leader of Jon Moxley’s faction? Looking at the possibility
Jon Moxley has been causing chaos in the company for the past couple of weeks since his return. He partnered up with Marina Shafir and fans speculated he could be forming his own faction in the promotion. Many also speculated that the man behind the curtain who could be secretly working with him was Shane McMahon.
Shane O'Mac worked as an authority figure in WWE. After weeks of rumors of him having talks with AEW, a photo of him with Tony Khan from their private meeting went viral. During his time in SmackDown, he has had interactions with Jon Moxley many times. He was last been seen in WWE at WrestleMania 39 and hasn't been on WWE TV since.
At the recent All Out Pay-Per-View, the former AEW World Champion's shocking actions broke many hearts. After Bryan Danielson's victory against Jack Perry, he was joined in the ring by the Blackpool Combat Club. Moments later, he was attacked by Claudio Castagnoli and then suffocated by Moxley with the plastic bag, with only Wheeler Yuta trying to stop the heinous act.
As of now, Jon Moxley's faction consists of Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir, and PAC. It is possible that more stars could be added to the stable, which raises the question if Shane McMahon will reveal himself as the leader. His being disclosed as the leader of the faction could turn out to be a huge draw for AEW.
AEW issues official statement after Jon Moxley's shocking move
The former AEW World Champion choked out Danielson with a plastic bag and had to receive immediate medical attention.
A few moments later, AEW took to X/Twitter and posted that they would not be uploading the footage of the incident on social media. This only made fans worry more for the current AEW World Champion's health and will have to wait for Dynamite this Wednesday to know more about what went down following the PPV.
"Due to the graphic nature of the attack on Bryan Danielson, we will not be sharing the footage. AEW does not condone such actions."
It remains to be seen who else will be part of the faction and what their role in the Jacksonville-based promotion will be.
